Lauren Cymbaly joins Beacon with over 13 years of combined research and work experience in the fields of physical geography, ecology, and policy planning with a focus in wetland science, ecological restoration and natural heritage planning. She has completed a wide range of environmental assessments and associated regulatory permitting and compliance programs for both public and private sector clients.

Her areas of expertise include field program development, agency consultation / negotiation, and conducting or overseeing ecological characterization and delineation, habitat mapping, biological inventories, and recommending environmental protection and/or mitigation measures to meet legislative and policy requirements / objectives. Her project experience includes, but is not limited to: Species at Risk (SAR) habitat assessments, due diligence assessments, Environmental Impact Studies (EISs),, natural heritage work in support of municipal, Provincial and Federal Class Environmental Assessments (EAs), and biological inventories and eco-toxicological analyses associated with Ecological Risk Assessments.

Lauren carries a diploma in Ecological Restoration and Rehabilitation from the University of Waterloo and is certified in the Ecological Land Classification (ELC) system for Southern Ontario, the Ontario Wetland Evaluation System (OWES), the Ontario Stream Assessment Protocol (OSAP), Class 2 Backpack Electrofishing, and a Certified Inspector of Sediment and Erosion Control (CISEC).
