Beacon’s experienced team members routinely provide clients with peer reviews of natural heritage, hydrogeologic and geomorphic studies. They also provide, strategic advice, technical support and expert testimony for hearings before the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal, Ontario Municipal Board, Environmental Assessment Board and other land use tribunals such as the Mining and Lands Commission.
The scope of Beacon’s support services has included: research in support of hearings on “hot button” topics such as buffers, wildlife corridors and the effects of urbanization on wildlife; use of mapping and graphic design to illustrate findings; preparation of witness statements; and the provision of expert testimony. Clients for these services have included private landowners, the provincial government, airports, municipalities and conservation authorities.
