Beacon has extensive expertise in the strategic planning and management of urban forests, with special expertise as it relates to natural heritage planning, tree establishment and management of woodlands and forests in rural and urban settings. Beacon’s Ecologists, Certified Arborists and Landscape Designers regularly collaborate as part of multi-disciplinary teams to identify strategies and tools for effective integration and management of trees and wooded features into urbanizing areas.

Beacon has expertise in all aspects of urban forest management from tree establishment to jurisdiction-wide monitoring. Beacon has worked with municipalities across Ontario (e.g., Cambridge, Burlington, Guelph, Milton, Mississauga, Toronto, Ajax, Richmond Hill, Ottawa) and beyond (e.g., Medicine Hat and Calgary AB) to develop strategies to better protect, manage and enhance their urban forests on public and private lands.
